John D. Pearson, OD

He grew up in Cottonwood, AZ near the Verde River. When eighteen, he moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona. He graduated in 1995 with his bachelor of science in business administration degree magna cum laude. He continued on to Southern California College of Optometry. He graduated with his Doctor of Optometry with honors and distinction. He started working in this office three months after his graduation in 1999.

Dr. Pearson enjoys working with patients that appreciate eyewear and the optical precision that today’s lens technologies can achieve. For those that prefer not to wear eyewear, he has managed the care of many patients from their desire for information about eye surgery all the way to 12 years after the procedure (LASIK, Implantable contact lenses, RK, Clear Lens Replacement). He has also fit thousands of patients with contact lenses, including rigid gas permeable lenses.

Patients that suffer from allergies, dry eyes, conjunctivitis, and diabetes enjoy working with Dr. Pearson because of his stepwise, realistic approach to care. He prides himself on his detail orientation. He always communicates his exam findings with a diabetic patient’s physician. His personality and genuine concern keep his patients coming back year after year.

In his free time, Dr. Pearson loves tending to his indoor and outdoor gardens. He collects fiestaware and work by Charles Hollis Jones. He loves art and enjoys working with patients who create and appreciate it. He enjoys traveling and experiencing new things.
